Best Overall Freeride Board

The Lib Tech Orca is often talked about as the top of the top, and while we are not here to hate on it for being popular it is popular for a reason. We believe that Lib Tech has more to offer when it comes to a freeride board. The Rasman does everything that the Orca does but it does certain things even better. It is a stiffer board than the Orca and is extremelly stable and there is little to no chatter when charging fast. It lays trenches into the all packs of snow no matter the conditions. Not to mention that the Rasman will send you flying to the moon. It has all the pop you could ever want and more. Overall a super fun board that can handle anything that you throw at it and even more. It is meant for the sendy and hard charging boarder who wants to charge hard and take liftoff into the airspace.

Best Value Freeride Snowboard

The Jones Frontier is a gem of a board for under 500 USD. It does everything that an entry level all mountain board that can be pushed into freeride does. It floats fell in deep powder and lays carves fairly well. It has a rockered tip and tail that allow it to turn easily and have a plethora of angles for turning. It has a blunted nose to help it float well for a board that does not have an extremelly long nose. However the areas that it falls short in that it does not have any crazy playfullness or pop to it. It also fails to fully establish an extremelly hard edge in hard pack or ice. The frontier lives up to the price tag and even more and is a great fit for intermediate to intermediate-advanced snowboarders looking to improve their gear without breaking the bank.

Best Heavy Hitting Freeride Board

The Jones Stratos is a beast of a board and is a very powerful plank. It has a rocker/ camber shape with larger rocker in the front tip to give it that extra edge in floating. This board is very stiff. It will blast through any obstacle that you point it towards off piste and will lay trenches in even the hardest pack of edges. However it is not super manuverable and the turn radius lacks due to the other benefits that it has. It will carve extremelly well however you need a large turn radius to make to get the best out of this boards carving. Drawbacks include it is nearly impossible to butter, it lacks some pop in side hits, and honestly is a little tiring to ride as it is so agressive. This board is built for an agressive freeerider and will let them charge through anything pointed in its path.
